Trey released his latest solo effort, Traveler, on October 16th through ATO Records. The record opens with the shimmering, love-versus-the-apocalypse ode “Corona” and goes on to find Anastasio incorporating funky, fat horns and whirring synths on “Land of Nod” and Zappa-esque orchestral meanderings that turn pure pop on “Scabbard.” Traveler even includes a zonked-out, soul-tinged cover of the Gorillaz track “Clint Eastwood.”

Trey co-produced the album with Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Jonsi) last fall in Katis’ Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, CT. Along with Trey Anastasio Band, Katis invited several artists to work with them, including Mates of State’s Kori Gardner, The National’s Bryan Devendorf and Matt Berninger, and Icelandic percussionist Samuli Kosminen.

The vinyl version was pressed on gold colored 180 gram vinyl and comes with a Traveler bonus 7″ with the tunes “Traveler” and “Greyhound Rising”
